8/21 Wild Mushroom Foray – Boulder County

It’s peak mushroom season in the Rockies so that means it’s time for forays!

Join Zach for an educational mushroom foray in the mountains west of Boulder. We will be identifying our local mushrooms and discussing which edible Colorado mushrooms are good for beginners to learn to use for the table. Emphasis will be placed on:

• Choosing location & how to read landscape for mushrooms
• Colorado Mushrooms & Elevation Zones
• Mushroom ID & Key Identification Features
• Colorado Mushroom Groups

Participants are urged to bring the following materials on the foray:

• Sturdy Shoes
• Plenty of water
• collecting basket or bag
• paper bags, wax paper bags, or wax paper (for keeping collections separate)
• Notebook
• Camera/Cell Phone camera

Meeting location is in Boulder at 10:00 AM. We will then carpool/caravan to the foray location. Meeting location will be sent via email after registration (check spam folder).
